We are pleased to announce that Marilyn Singer's MIRROR MIRROR: A BOOK IN REVERSABLE VERSE Live Oak Media) is on this year's ALA/ALSC 2012 Notable Children's Recordings.
"Marilyn Singer and Joe Morton bring exuberance, humor and point of view to familiar fairy tales in 14 reverso poems," proclaims the annotation.
This list is developed annually from children's book recordings released in the U.S. during the preceding year. Recordings are judged by their respect for young people's intelligence and imagination; the way they reflect and encourage the natural interest of children and young adolescents; their ability to depict excellence through the effective use of voices, music, sound effects, and language; and their high standards in aesthetic and technical aspects. They must also exhibit venturesome creativity while remaining true to, expand, or complement the original work.
Please join us in congratulating Marilyn, and you can find the entire list of 2012 Notable Children's Recordings on the ALSC website.
